And the seeds planted in cinematic workshops all over the world, in the dreams of children and adults captured into film, and brought to the large screens of the 11th Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People and the 8th Camera Zizanio have bloomed for the duration of the past week and left us with a feeling of fulfillment and catharsis.

The doors of the Apollon theatre, were open all these days, giving us the chance to partake in the unique cinematic experience of sharing. Seats and aisles packed with kids and adults, cheering, laughing and mostly, having great fun. And the closing ceremony, with the awards, just reminded us of what happened during the two weeks that Pyrgos becomes more than simply a Greek town... For two weeks, it's the meeting point of people from all over the world, people with dreams that have found a way to bring them to life.

The closing ceremony, started with the heavenly music played by Abdar Kader Monlla member of the Jury, from Syria!! A fantastic experience...

The Greek Section Camera Zizanio awards, the screenings of which took place last weekend. And the participants of the Refugees from the Hospitality Centres of Makrinitsa and Agria, receiving their award for their film, No Entry.

Ready, set, rob, and a well-deserved award with a very simple film, that we all greatly enjoyed!!!

Ring, and the award goes to the 2nd Senior High School of Chios!!! Well-done, guys!!!

All of the Camera Zizanio awards for both the Greek and the European sections, were announced and either presented to the participants who were there (Leon was great, with, yet again, another Lego animation!!! Star Wars: Birthday bust up, and what fun it was watching the O'Connor bros, building their Legos in the foyer before and between the screenings!!!

And the most important jury of them all, the Children's Jury, who watched open-eyed all the animation, short films and feature films of the week, to choose one of each category and give their own award!! Thanks, guys, you were all great all week long, glad to have watched the films with you, and work with you!!!

Best Animated Film: A Drop in the Ocean, by Thodoros Veneris and Dimitris Cheliotis, Greece
Best Short Fiction Film: Because There Are Things You Never Forget, by Lucas Figueroa, Spain
Best Feature Film: No Network, by Ari Kristinsson, Iceland

Manos Kontoleon and Santosh Sivan, who also won the Best Feature Film award!! All awards to be announced in the official site of the Festival!!

The reception at the foyer was packed with all the people, and the finger food was just a sidekick to all the photographing, the talking, the promises for meeting once again next year!!!

And the packing, begins!! A couple of hours later, and the room, regaining its old, boring, non-festival look!!! Kudos to the sound and lighting guys, for all their work setting everything up, and getting it packed!!

And then, Memphis and Melrose!!! Μπράβο, Πασχαλίδη παιδί μου, σε κλείνουμε για μαθήματα χορού (ok, άντε, και για τα μυκηναϊκά, δεν θα πούμε όχι...)!!!
Α, και πάσα φήμη και διάδοση σχολίων για δημιουργία νεφών κατ' εξακολούθησην στα προαναφερθέντα μπαράκια, είναι πέρα για πέρα, αληθής!!! Τα φωτογραφικά ντοκουμέντα, θα διατίθενται σε εξωφρενικές τιμές, και αποτελούν αντικείμενα πλειοδοτικού διαγωνισμού (ok, οι συμμετέχοντες θα τα πάρετε -σχεδόν- δωρεάν..., χιχιχιχιχι) γιατί, μην ξεχνιόμαστε, είναι και εκείνo το υβριδικό SUV της Lexus που λέγαμε (καλά, αν δεν μπορείτε να μου πάρετε αυτό, έχω και εναλλακτικές επιλογές, μην το κάνουμε θέμα!!) γιατί, θυμίζω, ΠΩΣ θα σας πηγαίνω βόλτες σε μέρη κακοτράχαλα και φανταστικά?

Και όσο τα δικά μας 12άχρονα, και 15άχρονα, στοχεύανε μέσα από τον φακό και το σκόπευτρο μιας κάμερας, την ίδια ώρα, άλλοι στοχεύανε μέσα από το σκόπευτρο ενός όπλου, την ίδια ηλικία. Μια σφαίρα, το τέλος ενός ονείρου.
